In my previous Wednesday Walk post, I shared that I want to explore more the water body where we go to swim every weekend. The place we go to every weekend is called Sahastradhara. Previous week's post link- https://hive.blog/hive-155530/@saranegi/wednesday-walk-exploration-with-new-route

As usual, we @himalayanwomb , @saurabh.pandit and I started a 1 km walk to the bus stand, 10 km covered by bus started walking alongside the river to explore it more. We at home cooked some food for ourselves, and one water bottle as we were aware that we would get a drinking water source during our trekking. We checked the river area on Google Maps to be mindful of the area, jungle, and river, where things can go wrong and where we could take calculated risks.

It was easy to walk a few km along a riverside, we met school children and they requested us to click their photographs as we had a camera. We clicked some of their photos and shared photos with one of the boy's father's WhatsApp numbers. They wanted us to follow them on Instagram, however, all of us in this trekking are not on Instagram so it was an easy decision to not note their Instagram ID.

While walking we saw tiny fish, tadpoles, birds, beautiful flowers, and clean water.

Finally, we reached the point where the real trekking started as there were rock mountains on both sides and a very narrow way to walk. We had to walk in the river as there was no space on the side of the river and the mountain was very steep. temperature was 3 to 4 degrees less than the city and the water was cold. We did not remove our shoes, we did not want to hurt ourselves with sharp stones and other things as this place was new to us.

Inside there was little fear, we slowly kept walking, and finally, we found the small fall that we saw on the Google map. It was not easy but not too tough to cross this fall so we decided to cross it.

Once we crossed this fall the other little bigger fall was there, this pond water seemed deep to us, and though two of us know swimming and one of our friends had done an advanced mountaineering course, we still wanted to assess the risk.

We found a wooden stick around 12 feet long, we checked the water depth in this pond and the wood was completely submerged in the pond. Luckily from this point, the left mountain, which was connected with the road had small trees and bushes.

The place where we decided to stop our trekking.

We decided to not to take risk and and climbed from the bush area and reached to the road. We celebrated our trekking, discussed the whole walking experience, had lunch, and were happy that we did not take too much and took a calculated risk. from here we walked towards to our all-time favorite pond, swam for 1 hour and headed to home.

Normally we add locations on Google, but we did not add this one, as we believe it is dangerous, and people should only go if they have some experience with trekking or swimming.

It was fun, we almost covered 15 kilometers, some we were able to record as I started Strava (running app), and some not as I forgot to start it again :)

Coming weekend will be natural pond only as one of my neighbors is excited to learn swimming and I am excited too for her as I feel most of us should learn it.

Thank You for stopping by.
